The "Ghost" lives!

  • Today was the day. 8o

We finally got to hear it run today. Well actually it was tonight but we finally got to hear it run.

Most everything seemed to be ok I guess. It was a little concerning at first when every warning light on the dash came on. After I let it warm up for a few minutes I turned it off and restarted it several times and then left it sit and run for about 10 minutes and all the warning lights went off. So far no leaks, no knocks, no surprises. 8)

Do you really have to check the reservoir level on the SC @ 2,000 rmp ???????????????? :/ Dangit man! I checked it at idle (1,000rpm) and it is to the max mark. As soon as we have a day that is warm enough and I have the opportunity I will ease it around the neighborhood for a few minutes and then I'll have her hold the throttle @ 2k while I check it.

Has anyone besides me put the factory heat shield back on after installing a 1320 header and Welter exhaust?

I have a question about the 1320 header and the bungs that are welded in it for oxygen sensors. I was looking it over tonight and it really doesn't look like either position would give an accurate reading. At least not an accurate average reading for all cylinders. One bung looks like it'd be good for two of the cylinders and the other looks like it might be good for the other two cylinders. I have gauges on the way for AFR and Boost. As I understand it the Boost gauge is pretty much just for looks because the SC's don't have the "creeping" issues that the TC's have but I just don't feel safe running a SC on anything without an AFR gauge. I look at it as cheap insurance.

I was thinking that we were about ready to put the hood on but noooooooooooooooo, we were just ready to take the hood apart!!?(

I wish I could get my hands around the engineers neck that designed those tabs that you have to undo to get the hood apart. I'd like to hang'em up by his gonads and feed'em exlax till he crapped himself to death. :cursing::cursing::cursing: What a pain in the ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, oh well you know what I mean.

We still like doing the modifications to the hood and putting it and the rest of the stuff on the front and mounting the new windscreen.

As good a job as Kev did of packaging the windscreen the shipping company still managed to damage it!!!!!! It's not bad but it is aggravating that they obviously play foot ball with peoples packages with no concern of the damage they are doing. :cursing::cursing::cursing: I'll get off my soap box now!

Tonight was my last chance to work on it until I get back from Ocala next week and I can already see work piling up for next week too! Maybe we will get done with this thing and get it all back together in time to come to Maggie Valley!!!! Jk jk hopefully it will be a lot sooner than that but it just seems like everything is taking sooooooooooo long to get done. Is there anyone out there that is making a panel to cover the "Polaris" lettering on the nose? I know that there use to be some carbon fiber pieces that you could buy from Slingmods but they have been discontinued and even if they hadn't I wasn't going to pay $250 for one. It was a fight to get it off but we finally got it. Now we just have to decide what it is we are going to do to cover up/ replace the polaris logo on the nose. I'm thinking that "GHOST" would look really good on there! Wish us luck!
