So you pretty much wear your helmet all the time?
UK laws are much stricter than the DOT requirements, in the US. No half helmets and a higher safety spec..
However, trikes are exempt from these rules and we are not required to use them, in a SlingShot.
Having said that, I do sometimes, use them, on motorways, to avoid getting hit by stones & now when I do use them, I have upgraded from my standard, black, outfit...
Normally only used, when swinging into a foreign Embasy, through a window, on a rope, following a "Flash-Bang!"
To something a little more in line, with the UK_Paul image.
Especially now the Polaris logo, has gone the same way too.
Thank God I live in Oklahoma, no helmet law. I bought one just for helmet law states. I put it on in Missouri 3X and it felt like it was crushing my skull. Headache and sweating like a pig. I took it off after 15 min and never used one again.

We don’t need them in AR either. I carry one when going to MO. I’ll have it with me in case they pull me over. I can say “sorry, I forgot!” Have passed several LEOs in MO and none have pulled me over. Went by a highway patrolman and he just gave me a thumbs up.
Do not need them in South Carolina, I carry one for driving in the rain only.
Found this link. Map of motorcyle helmet laws
Looks to be accurate and current and means no helmets needed between CO and AR for Slingshot in the Ozarks.
And to stay true to the post my wife and I carry HD half helmets (DOT approved) with face shields for inclement weather.
ICON Airflight. It has a retractable visor under the full face shield. They run small so go up a size if you go this route. Very breathable and lightweight. I typically only wear it to the track or on the highway.
If one was ever going to be required in Florida, I've already picked my choice of brain cages to wear

We would suggest that you spend some time in a shop with a large inventory of helmets so you can get properly fitted because not all helmets are the same, different helmets fit different shaped noggins. A helmet should be snug, but not "crushing."

Yes, that is one reason that I never order a helmet unless I can find one to try on for size.. I was in a bike shop that had a good assortment of brands. I tried on 5 small half helmets and only one fit the way it should.
Always used one when sledding or riding. Can't count the number of times large pieces of ice or road debris had hit my helmet. Thinking with the slingshot being even lower to the ground it may happen more. This scorpion helmet at least lets me remove parts if its too hot and comes with a clear and smoked shield that you can change in about 10 seconds.
I did buy a half helmet just to store if pulled over in helmet state. I still don't like helmets at all.
I have two half helmets but they don't look like that one
We bought half helmets when we got SS. Figured it would allow us to hear each other when traveling and it has. Haven't put a helmet on one time since we got the Bullet Speed Top. Keep them on hand just in case we get stopped. Gonna get us some full face helmets when it gets cooler.
I Use a skull cap.......The other day i left my house in the rain, So i wore my full face modular , 180mile+ ride, That helmet just wore me out...Next time i'll take both helmets with me and when it stops raining put the skull cap on...On my Bikes the full face works well, But setting in a car type seat no way...
