Anyone have a muffler do this? Let me tell you it really rattles and will make you go nuts. Am currently talking to slingmods about replacement. This was after a fine ride in hill country with three other slings

Was that originally welded?

Talk about separation anxiety!
But it helped build our appetite for the bent rim grill!

@Boomer what system are you running?
Looks like an Alpha side exit.
-
Mine did the same thing! I know a couple other this happened to.
-
That's why they have discontinued this item. To many problems with it. I wanted to order it but it disappeared from the site before I could snatch it up.

Had 2 go like on me and changed another members who's did the same.
After the second I didn't even bother calling for a replacement. Installed a Welter Stealth. -
@Boomer, mine did the same thing and I believe @Slingrazor had that happen also. I keep an eye on my wife's and hopefully it won't happen to hers. If it does, she'll get a Welter like mine.

I guess I should have kept my spare - I sent it back to Henry since I didn't pay for it.

Don’t really want to go out back, really like side exit. Was there a replacement for side exhaust?

Henry sent me a new one but it went with my old SS when I traded it at Maggie Valley (with only 900 miles on the exhaust).

1320 makes side exhaust, no?
-
This exhaust and the variable are a current source of headache for them, allegedly(according to another local rider) the shop who sells the mufflers to alpha has refused to acknowledge that they are defective leaving alpha to eat the whole thing themselves, a rather sour pill to swallow if you ask me.

Just out of curiosity does anyone have one that has held up? Mine is still intact with only a couple thousand miles on it.
-
Quite a detailed post over on TDS. Small shop has had multiple failure for clients

Mine had a weld issue but Henry got it fixed and I am at 15,000 milesSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The mounts are installed by a local shop I believe. If you do your research you can find the cores available for both the side and variable.
-
I had the same problem. I'm on my third replacement. When it breaks again I'll be moving on to a different exhaust
-
I'm guessing that adding the mount directly onto the muffler means it's getting stressed in ways it wasn't designed to handle. So I'm not sure Alpha can completely blame the muffler manufacturer for the failures.
