Tires...what are you running?

IMHO. replacing your tires BEFORE MV is the best choice as you want to have the best performing tires during the spirited rides through the mountains. Plus with their typical afternoon rain showers. If your tires are that close to needing replacing, ask yourself is pushing your luck for an extra 1K miles are worth the risks going through the twisties with no guard rails on the side of the roads? Ask E J and he'll tell you the margin for errors in the mountains is not great

I have just over 6000 on the original Kenda.
I had 16,901 miles on my first Slingshot Kendra tires. So unless you are see wear bars probably not really time to change.

There are some wear bars showing but it still looks like it has plenty of tread left.

Put a penny in the hroove head down. If you can see the top of the head, it's time to change out.

I have never run a tire down like that. I loved Gerald more than that.

This is my rear tire as of today...

After checking the weather forecast for Maggie valley I decided it was time for some fresh rubber. Went with same brand of tire and same size tire but a different tread pattern. The new tire is about an inch wider than the old one.
