Not long ago, I saw someone post that there were only around 17,000 Slingshots built. I know... this is the internet, and it has to be right. 
I asked Friday how to find what my SS build number was. Yesterday I had the hood open, and checked my number. I bought my Sling May 22nd of 2016. It was one of the first SS that the dealer got that was a 2016.5. My build number is 16870. I realize that they stopped selling them with the swing arm issues for awhile, but I'd guess that wouldn't have slowed the number much overall. They were only in production for 18 months when mine was built, so that's averaging around 11,000 a year. By those numbers, it's likely that we have over 25,000 built by now.
Another useless point you can bring up at Slingshot events....
It's going to take a lot of money to get my new one up to what I had or even up to what my wife is getting. But, that's ok. This one will be better very soon!
