@EricRedSL I can only assume you feel the Republicans are Anti-American also since they did much the same thing for over a year to the Garland nomination. Just think, in a little over a year Trump will be a Lame Duck, well, by some people's definition.

It also takes more backbone to go against your own party than to tow the party line. Though don't concern yourself with that. This is a dog and pony show because there is an election coming. The Republicans with "no backbones" are most likely in close races attempting to sway voters like myself that vote for a person, not a party. If they are re-elected they will most likely go back to the party script like almost every politician, sadly.

Whats really funny is that the (R) by his name was and is a joke - looking at his history he has been anything but an (R). If by some off chance Trump were to be removed from office anyone who is in line to replace him will be much further to the right that Trump, especially on social issues.

Only reason why there was ever an (R) by his name is because was because he knew that this country is owned by the Republicrats and their 2 party lock on the system and as such the only way for him to get in was to pretend to be one of them.

When you cut through all of the crap the thing about Trump that pisses off so many people on both sides of the isle is they know, deep down, despite the (R) that was by his name when he ran he really doesn't belong in their members only club and he cant be counted to follow their rules

@edwardaneal he's a Republican. He has worked through the Republican punch list. He has also undone many Democrat implemented items. I'm not sure what proof you need that he is a Republican.

I have to mention that post #8565 says nothing about further obstruction by the Dems do to the precedent the Dems set and is being sited by Republicans as precedence for their obstruction, thus repeating an endless cycle of obstruction by both sides in the name of precedence. Which I assumed by you bringing it up, you agree with.

We have 4 different groups we are dealing with. First we have group A - the small elite political class. The insiders of both parties. Most of these people consider themselves independent and if they are registered as a Democrat or Republican it is not because they follow that party it is because being registered as such gives them voting options they might not have if they registered as an Independent or Libertarian - this of course is because in many places the two party club wont let outsiders play because if they did it would threaten their lock on political control

And lastly we have group D - the non voters, either too lazy to take the time or so disenchanted they have given up (frankly if you are in this group you gave up any right to complain when you chose not to vote)

What is really sad about this country right now is that group A has completely brainwashed group B into thinking that if you do not agree you must be the enemy - Group A doesn't care if you are on the right or left all they care about is that whatever side you are on you fight the other side - by doing this, by keeping people politically fighting - they keep us divided and by keeping us divided they keep their power and control and yes their wealth. They are the kings and queens the rulers of the land and all they care about is making sure it stays that way.

I am in group C a registered Libertarian who leans toward the conservative side on many but not all economic issues and toward the liberal side on many, but not all social issues. In the last presidential election I voted for Gary Johnson - Normally I think the published political party platforms are just feel good fairy tails they want us to believe they will support so that they can keep us as their followers, but in the case of Gary Johnson I truly felt that he actually would try to govern with the Libertarian part platform as his guidance - that is why he got my vote. Here is a link to that platform - if you can find the time please read it - you might find it makes more sense than you expected - Libertarian party platform

Anyway having not voted for Mr. Trump at this time I do support him and I support him for 2 primary reasons - Reason 1, when you get past words from both sides and the crap that comes out of his mouth we seem to be headed in a good direction economically and we seem to be securing our borders - are there other issues that are not so good - yes, of course there are, but I dont expect perfection and I accept that things take time

And reason 2 - the most important reason I support Trump is because anyone who can piss off group A as much as he does and can make so many of the followers in group B shit there pants the way he does has to be a good for this country - - perhaps the earthquake that is Donald Trump is what this country needs to wake it up and shake it up so that the elite political class can once and for all be brought to an end and we can get back to a government that is actually by the people and for the people

I will also add that had I lived in a swing state The reality that it was going to come down to Trump or HRC would have forced me to vote for Trump - - in my entire life I cant think of a presidential candidate nominated by either major party who cared less about the people and more about herself than Queen Hillary - as such I would have had no choice but to try to block her by voting Trump
