Hey Henry, do you have any pictures of what the shifter ends up like? how many speeds does it end up with? Can it be had with paddle shifter?
Sorry about all the questions, but this is something I've seriously considered. There's no way I can shift as fast as an automatic...doesn't matter how fast I think I am. -
We build a complete shift linkage/unit. You have to push down on the knob to change gears. Kinda like the knob on the side or on the bottom on a car. It is faster with the auto. Trans is a 5 speed.

So push down to shift into drive, reverse, etc? What about manually shifting from 1st - 5th? Is that an option or just "D"?

Yup. no manually shifting from 1-5 only D. Paddle shifters can be added for a additional cost

Damn Henry, that's pretty sweet. My wife would love one of those no doubt. It's the only thing keeping her from driving my Sling.
Out of curiosity, will that machine still be at Alpha on Monday?

I thought it was supposed to be better on the track. Also, how long does the conversion take and if you have a turbo or SC, where does the transmission cooler go? With an inter cooler and radiator aren't we running out of free airflow locations?

Only drag strip. Conversion takes a week. Trans cooler goes in front of the radiator

Which is why I was Inquiring about the manual shifting. Still worth it for me if he can offer me paddle shifters for manually shifting when I wanted to (which I'm sure they can)

paddle shifting isnt really manual shifting like it is with a clutch on these.

I guess what I'm wanting is to be able to downshift when I wanted to (like for track or mountain roads). Have a bit more control of the shift points vs just mashing on the throttle. For city driving and just sheer enjoyment without the clutch, let the auto be auto, but for those other times I'd like a bit more control over shift points.
