I looked this up and it seems that the Slingshot is considered an "Autocycle" in Tennesse and does not require helmets. Can anyone verify this?

I won't be wearing one. Hang on and I'll post the paperwork I have on it. It shows the requirement a little clearer. I would print all these papers and highlight the points that make your case... You need to be quick to show the officer your information you have regarding the law if you do get stopped. They won't wait for you to look it up on your phone.
(2) Motorcycles that are fully enclosed, have three (3) wheels in contact with the ground, weigh less than one thousand five hundred pounds (1,500 lbs.) and have the capacity to maintain posted highway speed limits; -
Sorry but you better wear your brain bucket - fully enclosed is arguable if you have a top but the 1500lb criteria would get you convicted. Oddly, I have never seen that - how the hell did they come up with that weight??

I hate helmets, but must agree with Bill. Even with a roof, it is not fully enclosed. IMO......I'll have my full face and skid lid with me.
Here you go.....
And here is a PDF file of the above paper. You can print it and use it or you don't have to if you don't want to.... .... I just provide y'all with the latest info I have found. I dont care how many laws have passed or haven't passed. As long as I dont have to put on a helmet I will use whatever is provided and argue my point....

Use my paper that I posted above. It doesn't have anything about the weight... Just needs to have roll hoops...
Just like I have said before.... This law is as clear as MUD.
@Bill Martin you would argue your point with my paperwork that I have above... I know you....
P.S. My SS weighs less than 1500 if anyone ask.. I have super secret carbon fiber frame and engine block.....

You know I'm with ya cause I hate helmets as much as you do BUT who compiled that list? Imma thinkin LEO would wad that up and throw it back at ya if you can't provide the actual law for that particular state proving your point. What say you @Shatneyman ?? Would you accept that???
@Shatneyman would accept it because he enjoys life and is awesome ! Its the LEO's that hate to see someone having fun that would be the problem....

MY POINT EXACTLY!!!!
And a helmet ticket is just a fine... It doesn't count toward points on your license does it? I would carry the above chart and a skid lid and run with a ball cap till I HAD to put on the skid lid. And pay the fine for no helmet.... But that is me....
Just called Tennessee Hwy Patrol - NO HELMET - YOU WILL GET TICKETED
Called S Carolina Hwy Patrol - OVER 21 - NO HELMET !!!
I will have my fine money handy then......

Why you call?????? You know the rule..... Don't stir them up.... Now they will be looking.... Im pretending you didn't post that,,,,,,

I'm good with that, and would not ticket someone. The fine print on the bottom in the box says "roll hoops". I think I could walk away feeling good that someone wasn't pulling a fast one over a cop. But it could go the other way as well. It's only a piece of paper and does not site statue for any state. It's general information and that paper would not fly in Vermont. It is incorrect, helmets ARE required in Vermont.
Also, NH is incorrect, no helmet law in NH. I love riding over there, it's a choice.

(hanging head in shame) sorry - it's your fault - you know I can't shut up

Better just hope he didn't star the call with "yeah this is Robert with the turbo on the white Polaris Slingshot from Georgia and if I'm doing 90 on the interstate do i need a helmet?"
