I couldn't care less about the mileage as long as my SMILE is still there once i sit in it, once that disappears than the mileage won't matter to me because chances are it'll belong to someone else, which i doubt
40mpg Slingshot!

Agree with you there. Smile every time I get in it and hear them custom exhaust and that supercharger blow off valve. Love it wont change it for anything.
-
I'm waiting on the supercharge kit to arrive for a home install. I'm on the bandwagon! Currently getting 27 MPG. If mileage goes down to 24-25 MPG I'll be good with that.
-
As I said before I use Boat Logic - how many hours if driving before I need fuel - mine is about 2.5 hours
-
dont blame you
-
understand but i don't worry about it. I look at the fuel gouge and when it need fuel I fill it up.
The last stop before I go to the house is the gas station so the Sling will be ready to go the next time that I leave the house
-
I try to keep mine topped off as well.

THIS is “fuel gouge”...
-
Well I got out my TrakHamr this morning and was 40 degrees and I averaged 20.5mpg. I dont care about that. I love that supercharger and the feel of the power .
-
Honestly I'm VERY alone on this, (and I'm ok with that) but a 1700lb vehicle with a 2.4L engine should do better than 25+ mpg. My love of the Slingshot is being out in the open air, it's performance stock is more than enough for me.
Now you can go back to your regularly scheduled performance upgrades...
-
You guys are cute, if I'm not getting 12 mpg, I'm not driving my sling hard enough and not getting enough smiles per mile.
I average about 16 to 17 on the highway running 80. I've seen high 20's once or twice going slow behind other slings on rides.

are you calculating that manually?
with the stock ECU I was getting crazy numbers like 40mpg
with the Haltech I had 19mpg - I think that may be close but not accurate
2.5 hrs of driving get gas before the level gets too low and the fuel can move away from the pick up in a hard turn. Thy situation is not very Turbo friendly
-
Yes, calculating manually, always. I have documentation showing my last 50 fuel ups since I started documenting

Then I must be down to about 12 or less because of the size of the injectors we are using - Truth be told I don't want to know!
-
I don't really care how much gas I'm burning, just how many smiles I get out of it. I mainly track it out of curiosity.
-
No, this is NOT photoshopped...
Yes, I did cheat a bit. Reset the milage at the top of Crossover hill in Fayetteville and coasted almost 3 miles down.
So SURE I believe in the 40 mpg slingshot. If I can do it with my 2017 Hyundai SUV, anyone can.
-
Bigger injectors will give you "higher" mileage on the gauge because each pulse lets more fuel in. My turbo shows about 40 quite consistently, but real world from tank is high 20s
-
Some folks enjoy the pursuit of hyper-mileage, but I don't think the Slingshot invites such driving practices! I remember sometimes getting around 35 mpg in my Slingshot, but most of us, me included, don't really find that the point of our Slingshots.
-
I keep track of milage cause I HATE running out of gas and hiking or hitching a ride.
I did notice that going turbocharged reduced the milage I was getting from about 27 mpg to a bit under 24 mpg - TOTALLY worth it!
Strange, but I get asked about milage a lot, my standard answer is "no real slingshot rider gives a damn."
I used to say "My other car is an Elio", but nobody gets that joke anymore. Not even Paul Elio.
