I recently got the light also at 2000 miles on my 2016 SS. I read it was a pressure switch recall item on the master cylinder. Not real sure about recall but as I read my brakes are still working fine.

Lots of posts bout the MC pressure switches .... and related dash light ..
Here is one: Dash brake light on
Yes your brakes will still function just not your cruise control...
Replacement is a warranty item, not part of the recall ...
The recall covers the pressure switch sealing washers (stat-o-seal) on a certain VIN range only, not the switches themselves.....

They will replace them under warranty, 30 minute job if the tech knows how.

Thanks. Started it after work and it's off. Dealer will want to see it I'm sure.

Just drive and hit the brakes, it'll turn in again... Mine always triggered that way even though it would turn off after a restart.

The dealer can pull the failures off the ecu, it records each time it comes on.
