Was freakin wild here yesterday. Wind, electrical, marble size hail, 2.5 inches of rain in 10 minutes and this. Twister touched down a few Km's from here. Arse puckering afternoon/evening to say the least.

I must agree. Dont think there are many other places where i would choose my slingshot to be a daily driver as i have here

I was stationed at the US Army Presidio of Monterey twice while attending/working at the language school and also went TDY to Santa Barbara a lot. We liked California, just couldn't afford to live there!

from a weather and geographic point of view its a great state - its just the government thats messed up. Heck, if you know where to look and have job portability there are even places with affordable housing - just forget about living on the coast or in the bay area
oh and since this is the weather thread 79 on my ride to work at 6am and 111 on the ride home - no humidity so all in all a nice day in the sling

The Army sent me to California, West Berlin and Taxachussetts and we actually enjoyed all three. In September 2017, the Wife and I got a chance to go back to Berlin and visit after 40 years. Had a great time and realized how much we missed Berlin. She was in the Air Force back then and I was Army. We worked different shifts and had 1 day off together every 2 weeks or so. Probably why we're still together after 44+ years as that made us appreciate our time together.

I can relate - My Sara works nights as a table games dealer in one of our local casinos and I work days. It seems like most of the time we are passing each other as one heads out the door and the other comes home. It has been this way for over 20 years and I think it has made us both really treasure the time we do get together - I even try to keep my riding time to Saturday mornings so that I can get home before she wakes up around noon. From then until we go to bed Sunday night is the only real time we get together each week. It may seem weird, but we like it this way it keeps us from falling into a trap of taking each other or our time together for granted

@edwardaneal I feel your pain, we have had 21 days in a row over 100. Some of which were 108+. That is why I am really looking at the fans that @mytoy was showing. Try to stay cool my friend.

SSREAPERyou can laugh, but at only 10% humidity it is really much easier to deal with than it would be at 40% - - only supposed to be 109 today and this weekend only in the mid 90's - - probably the last days we will get until mid September that are not triple digit days

I told my Wife the other day that we had been living in Texas too long. I had noticed how much cooler it felt when the temp dropped from 97 to 95F. That was on a rare day when we had decent humidity. Unfortunately, we usually have elevated humidity along the Gulf Coast for 4-5 months along with temps over 80F for 6 months of the year.

I can relate - been here in the desert so long I think 70 is downright cold. we only get humidity 30-40% in july and august - our "monsoon" season - it sucks and probably really isnt that humid by your standards

I promise you sir that I was not trying to be funny. I live where ther is 70 to 80 percent humidity year round and 95+ degrees. It sucks.
You definitely have it rough as well with those temps...a lot of people danger hurt with your weather because they don't know they are dehydrating.
I guess we are fellow hot heads...lol

Anytime humidity is lower than 60% here, we're very happy!

My Wife grew up in the lower Rio Grande valley. I can remember visiting there and folks wearing coats because the temps were below 70!

yep - biggest mistake people make here is not keeping hydrated - when its 110+ and only 10% humidity you lose water very quickly. as to your 70 to 80 percent humidity - - that would kill me I dont do well at all in humudity
