I have been checking out my latest addition for the SlingShot.
It is the FOBO T.P.M.S. (Tire Pressure Monitering System). This system is designed to work with trikes.
These little sensors are for monitoring both pressure and temperature. If any problems arise then the data will show up, on your, Apple or Andriod, smartphone.
As I have replaced to Polaris radio, with a modified Android unit, this will be ideal, for me, as I won't even need to use my phone to monitor things. (My radio is designed to accept an integrated T.P.M.S. but this would require a 4 wheeled vheical, to function correctly, so the FOBO Trike system is a much better option).
It appears that some people have already started using these and I'm pleased to have received a gif file that I may use/adapt to show a SlingShot on the app's display.
I have played with the original black & white file, to adapt it, with some red, to match my ride a little closer. (See pic).
I hope that this works correctly when I install it as a gif file, in the FOBO app..
Installation should take place, in a few days time, so I hope to have a report for you all soon.
Always nice to know whats going on with Tires Paul. Going to steal that idea and add it to the must do list
After a few months, with my feet up, following surgery, on my right foot. I got the all clear, today, from the surgeon, to resume driving again. Just in time, as our weather, in the UK is starting to improve, at long last.
Above: The view, today, from the back of the house.
Time to hit the road, in the SlingShot
Go for it and enjoy!!!
I will fit the new Optima Yellow Top & FOBO tyre pressure sensors tomorrow.
Then, it will be on to a few more mods, later.
I spent the day, well the second half of it, messing a ground, trying to fit the Optima, Yellow Top Battery.
I also fitted the jump lead connectors and they went in fine.
The battery took a little more effort. If it had been 2mm higher or wider, then it would not have fitted. Even then, I still haven't been able to attach the positive lead to the battery. So that's now a job for tomorrow.
The FOBO T.P.M.S. sensors are fitted, but as the battery isn't yet fully fitted so, I haven't yet used them...
Bring on tomorrow.
Picture time:
Following some posts on the "SlingShot mods" thread, I have reported so.e pictures and I formation, of my recent modifications.
What was today's Sling project-Mods , goodies.....?
(First of 3 postings, in link above).
FOBO T.P.M.S. Look fine and I'll be reporting back soon.
I have already received lots of comments, back to me, via Facebook, saying that they are a good buy. So I'm anticipating some good results.
I'll be adding some custom made "T" shaped stems, in place of the rubber ones, fitted as standard, to the wheel. These will enable the filling, of air, in the tyre, without removing the, tamper proof, sensors.
I have also added some red highlighting strips from ToughSkin. The pictures below show some before & after pictures.
A strip of red, along the front of the spoiler.
Some red highlighting, on the fenders$mud guards. These set off the shape realy well and work perfectly with the red mineing, on the wheels.
I intend to take some more pictures, soon.
Another addition to the UK_PAUL SlingShot today. Some rubber mats.
Everything is looking good, over the fields, from on end of the hose.
I had been using some standard carpeted, car mats, last year in the Slig' but with the great British weather, they spent most of the year sitting I the foot wells, damp & soggy.
The new mats fit well and the red finish sets off the inside, taking away from some of the large areas of black plastic.
Finely everything had to be checked out by one of our two cats.
It got a full approval.
If the Cat did not approve, I was not going to like that post :-P..
