Yes ....now you got it!!!
DDM sway bar install Quick Question
-
-
But you’re still talking about an adjustment factor...are we trying to keep the sway bar level with the adjustable links?
Is that the plan...keep the bar level no matter what hole you use?
Keep the bar horizontal and also remove any preload in the bar. The holes adjust the stiffness of the bar with the one closest to the front of the Slingshot being the stiffest and the one furthest back being the softest.
-
I've also been told to have a weight that weighs as much as the people normally sitting in those seats and then remove the preload. In my case I sat in the driver's seat and had a friend adjust them. Don't know how much of a difference it makes. Just sayin'

Alright are there any actual installation instructions written down anywhere to install these links? I got nothing with the new ones...
I want step number one to step number 47...
Do you need both front wheels off the ground to do this?
Should you put 150 pounds in the front seat.. should the weight be on one side or evenly distributed?
Does it matter which side you install First?Do you take out both old links before you start installing the new ones..?
what exactly is preload?
When you put the first link in should it be as long as the original link or just that the sway bar is level?
What do you do with the second link?
Just make it level also...
Will the links or should the links be the exact same length when you are done? Or is it more important that the bar just be level..
How do you release the preload....whatever that means?Do you do any adjusting when you take the jacks out and it’s on the ground?
Again this is all new to me....since the original links are not adjustable...I can check the oil... LOL..

With slingshot on the ground.
Step 1 remove one link
Step 2 install one link
Step 3 remove second link
Step 4 install second link
Step 5 drive vehicle and have funIt truly is that simple.

Make sure bar ends are level

What about preload?
Cockpit weight..equivalent to driver..? -
As stated before...
The bar is not preloaded. When the links are connected you pin it neutral.
If you choose you can have someone pin it with you sitting in it.
Pin the bar in a neutral position!!!
It is that simple! -
instructions can be found at Slingmods website

My head hurts....too many installation variations I’ve seen and read..
I need a nap...

Alright FYI. The factory bolts are more ch too short to use with these Assault links.
Notice anything? The Assault links need bushings to fit the diameter of the factory bolts.
-
Should have just used the factory links. Unless you plan to track the SS it won’t make a difference.
-
I’m also going to make an assumption that I got screwed in the deal. I just paid over $20 for 4 new bolts. And I’m guessing I won’t be getting new bolts from Assault because of that. Like they told me I would because they are supposed to be in the SS kit.
So beware.
-
factory links won’t fit the different holes in my new 4 hole sway bar.
-
now for the next issue
The steering rack arm hits the adjustable link when turned to the stop.
-
Put the link on the inside of the bar and not on the outside...no it does not make a difference.

4 holes.
I had to install the links on the inside of the sway bar instead of the outside like the factory links.
I used the second hole and I can feel a difference.

It may hit the A-Arm if installed in the wrong place with no stops installed on the sway bar
