You are right , we just got back from an afternoon ride. (86 degrees) That brings me to about 250 miles for the day
Heated Riding Gear

Or: long johns, gloves, wool socks and a jacket. You'll never plug them into the wrong place.
Hey, @Ross, look at all the extra clothes Doug thinks he's gonna remember to bring!

Alright you jokers, the subject is heated riding gear not rain gear! I'm really good at staying warm. I just suck at staying dry...

Sure rub it in....

Mid 50's and Sunny in Northern Indiana today. little riding and some fall pics.
Heated gear is ready. -
I've been riding in 40-degree temps in the mornings on the way to work, with regular jacket, gloves, thin balaclava & helmet, I've been quite comfortable (thank you Wisconsin childhood!)
I've seen a heated/cooling seat pad on Amazon for about $50 that I may invest in. Otherwise, I may go back to an over-the-clothes snowmobile suit for about $200. I used to go out skiing and observing in those and never got cold even well below zero.
If I get a new snow suit - I'll let y'all know how it works!

I am headed out very early tomorrow morning and it's supposed to be about 38 degrees or so. It's part of a costumed ride so I can't wear my leather jacket over my heated liner jacket. I'm trying to figure out if a thick sweatshirt over the heated jacket will be enough. What do you wear?
-
This will be the first winter riding the S/S......But for the last 45+ winters i've ridden Two wheelers and Trikes all winter, The lowest ride was a few years ago as 6 degrees ....If you don't have a mind , It doesn't matter...The last few winters i wear, under my heated jacket a Under Armour cold gear T shirt, For short rides i have an Milwaukee battery heated jacket.... For long rides i use a Tourmaster plug in jacket and over that a real motorcycle jacket, [Buffalo hide jacket that i have since 1998]...My pants are lined jeans...

I still have a 30 yr old 'cover all' Snow Suite works great in the 30's, If I put the heated jacket liner in will be real warm.

Down into the mid 20's I usually wear extra layers underneath, a heavier motorcycle jacket, gloves, any cooler than that I'll slip on the rain pants just to cut the wind chill on my legs. Justina will wear her heated jacket and then add layers over that that can come off as temps get warmer, as well as heavier pants with rain pants over. Now, here is the big secret that we definitely do not go without when the temps dip: Sedici Close Thermic Neck Warmer - Cycle Gear or something similar...................

Karianne received a wonderful gift from @EjFord ... the plug connector for her heated vest ...... now if we can sneak away from work, family, and get some dry weather we may just have to try it out
Karianne says thanks and she owes you a big hug
Going to be in the mid 40's today. Just for fun I'm going to try mine out.

WE finally have a cool morning ,62 degrees

Great morning to get out and ride.

Well today I got all my heated riding gear up and running with the neutrino fuse box....put the soles, gloves, jacket and pants on separate circuits so I can individually control them.
Now the heads up.....
I was under the mistaken impression that my neutrino would control my gear by temperature, speed and altitude.....the model I bought is the Black Box Element. The Element only gives you a variable heat control feature....nothing else.
Only the Aurora model, which must be the top of the line....can do temp, speed and altitude. Now I called the company and they can upgrade my Element to an Aurora for $100. But I have to uninstall it and send it to them. So be warned ...
That said it’s not the end of the world having to do it manually with a swipe of a finger.

Or you could wear some long johns, a layer or two and a jacket...take something off as you warm up. Totally pre 21st century but it works. No 'lectricity required. Won't ever fail either. Just sayin...
