If you don"t find the information you are looking for here, just let me know. I powder coated mine flat black they come as raw aluminum.
The above is for the Hood Vent that I used and these are the for the Fenders;
@mniron Can I get shot of how they look from underneath, I want to see what all, if anything, I need to cut away to install. Thanks!
A little later today I will be happy too

On the passenger side I cut the subframe a little when I replaced the fender last summer, the Drivers side the subframe is not cut, but I will do that also since the fender will be replaced under warranty for a flaw. There is room to install without cutting into the subframe at all but I was trying to get an optimal location for air flow. These vents give 36 square inches of free air flow on each fender.

Very sharp sling! Nice job
Ok so after everything is said and done....will opening up the center hood vent on the slingshot help or hurt the engine performance, passenger heat issue. Basically is it worth doing or not?

This has reduced the heat in the cabin, also reduced a bit of the hood vibrations during windy rides/crosswinds
After looking at the factory vent I think I can cut openings into the verticals on it. Has anyone ever attempted modifying the vent in this way?

Yes, this was done right after the SS came out. I cut mine out probably around the summer of 2015.

Yes, several have done so
Did you notice any difference?
Did you notice any difference?
Not really. I was just trying to move some more air out of the engine compartment. I bought an extra vent just to cut it up.
will opening up the center hood vent on the slingshot help or hurt the engine performance,
I hope not.
I sure wish Polaris would take a hint from the hoods that have been repainted to just ONE color scheme. I cant say Ive ever been a fan of the black textured stripes...
That sir, looks great! And I also like the wheel flares, with the mesh seen thru the cut outs, and the bottom red...
Im sure you had that professionally painted... would it be possible to achieve a decent looking diy paint job on those flares?
And I have hoped to see an aftermarket hood that had a beefy hood scoop.... but after your crystal clear picture of the negatives vs positives.... well, my my hope is crushed. I like the vents also.

Thank you for your positive comments, funny the fender flares is a DIY paint project I took on shortly after I got my SlingShot in 2014. Each year since I keep thinking I will get them "professionally" painted with a perfect paint match but numerous projects get in the way. Most of the mods I make myself, many people never realize or notice many of them. Maggie is soon around the corner, looking forward to see all the creativity.
since i have installed these, i have noticed fender flopping as reduced ALOT. And would like to thank gpcustoms for the help and information for these.
Question for people with the vented hood thing.....do you feel the heat coming out towards you when you’re driving?
