anyone seen this code before
check engine code

520230 is an absolutely harmless code. That code will come up if you had your key in the accessories position prior to starting engine. It is to conserve battery strength.

thanks all good. ya was just like you said

Clutch Switch Sensor. does not necessarily mean a bad part- once cleared, you could be fine

Yup!!!! Just wish I could figure out how to clear it off the dash. Drives me just a little batty...if you know what I mean!

have you tried unplugging the battery for awhile? If you are N/A, you can also unplug ECU for about 15 minutes. replug, and start a few times. (don't know if this works with boosted- someone else can chime in) Have been able to clear bogus codes that way..... easier than a trip to dealer for digital wrench....

Okay, I'll bite. How does one go about unplugging the ECU? Yeah, I'm that dumb. And I'm not Boosted, yet!

Hope that helps

I would imagine that all three connectors need to be released/disconnected? And to be perfectly clear, this "modification" does nothing else to the Sling, other than to reset that pesky Code!?!?! Pardon my skittishness.

unplug the 3 ECM plugs for 15-30 minutes and then plug them back and and start it. See if the code re-appears. May actually have to drive it a bit- I have had to drive about 5 minutes, after procedure, before a bogus code disappeared. There are 3 pretty good sized connectors, from a main harness, going to EMC.... you just unplug them.... SHOUTOUT for a picture from somebody!!!! @MACAWS, @Ruptured Duck assistance, please!

thanks- much faster than I type!
-
I did all three but I have a stock ecu. This process SHOULD keep any power from getting to the brain so that when you turn it on the ghost code disappears from being caught in memory for no good reason ....... at least that is my limited understanding

It does nothing else but MAYBE reset.... you do NOT have ANY power to the machine when doing it. DO NOT try to turn the engine while it is unplugged. It is easy enuf that I was able to do it- it's OK- @rabtech told me how to do it

Heading out to unplug the ECM. Fingers crossed!!!!

Just start and drive it and shut it off about 6 times it will eventually go away....
-
It just needs to see activity from the pedal and it working as it is supposed to .... It will need a few driving cycles.

This comes after letting the ECM sit disconnected for about 10-15 minutes? Sorry for all the questions
