Question: What is best method to winch a SS onto a flatbed?

  • Undecided. Just not sure yet.

Keep in mind that proper weight distribution for most trailers is 60% of the weight forward of the axle and 40% aft for proper tongue weight and handling. If you load with the engine block behind the axle, you run the risk of too little or negative tongue weight, meaning it will want to rise off of the hitch ball. Not a safe situation. Too much weight on either end can cause fishtailing.
