  • I bought the 13" model shortly after it came out. I then drilled a second set of mounting holes about 1" higher to allow me to position it lower during cooler weather. I probably should've drilled them a little lower since the higher holes resulted in the windshield sitting so low that I need to lift the windshield from its lowest position before the hood can be opened.

  • from - Slingshot (2015 - Up) Single – MadStad Engineering - "NOTE: Our new model single/blade windshield DOES NOT have a center notch cut out of the top edge. The top edge of the plastic goes straight across because we found that provides better wind protection. Some of the sample photos show the old style and we want you to to be aware of the change." IIRC, MadStad sells replacement or second screens for pretty reasonable prices.

  • I totaled my favorite bike, a 2007 Suzuki SV650 naked bike in the Spring of 2015, a few months before Texas finally allowed the Slingshot to be sold and I finally got my Slingshot. I really liked that bike. Bought it at the end of January 2010 with 4848 miles on it and when I wrecked it had just under 60K miles on it. Fantastic bike! slingshotinfo.com/index.php?at…75effea712e9edb107d3b7be6 Tail of the Dragon in the rain, August 2010.

  • Quote from Chain: “I swear someone was snoring in the background. ” I was in my carport yesterday before leaving for my Slingshot ride and I thought I heard a sound like geese. I assumed it was my neighbor using a saw that was squeaking. When I drove by his house, he wasn't outside and I was surprised to see two geese on his roof, honking away!

  • Quote from Bill Martin: “youtu.be/hWvEDYEWcYU ” I can just see him clipping the side of the house. I must admit that I'm jealous in that I'd love to have my own private road course! Guess I'll go buy another MegaMillions ticket! I doubt my Wife would be thrilled at me spending the winnings that way, especially since we'd have to move and I still have unpacked boxes from our last move in 2009!

While the popular opinion on HID lights are they are a great choice on most vehicles, they appear to have an issue of premature failure on motorcycles. Quote from Bigdog: “I’m not adding white fog lights. Defeats the purpose . ” ?? Fog light color has nothing to do with the power source. It should be possible to rewire the Canadian Headlight wires to a different connector w/o too much trouble.

    Post

From various posts I've read, I'm of the opinion that many Slingshot owners seem to feel that the belt drive combined with a tire that will spin when too much power is applied serves as protection for the Slingshot's drive-train. The feeling is as you increase power and also go to a drive system that has less "give" (thru use of a chain or high traction tire), you risk damaging the drive-train (transmission or angle drive) since the tire is less likely to spin or the chain is less likely to skip…

Back before Polaris issued the headlight fix, I rewired my outer auxiliary headlights to run off the fog light circuit controlled by a switch so I'd have a backup headlight source in the event of failure. ” when I switched the outer auxiliary headlights to run off the fog light circuit, I just changed the connectors …

  • I'm 6'1" w/a 33" inseam and tend to keep my driver's seat 1 notch forward from all the way back so I can then have additional tilt to the seat back. This still allows me to extend my right foot under the gas and brake pedals for extra extension w/o touching what would be the firewall on a normal vehicle. If you look at the space between the back of the lower seat and the rear wall of the cockpit below the storage compartment, there would certainly seem to be room if someone wanted to add special…

  • I finally watched @MrGrey's videos. First thing I noticed was it looked like he was on I-495 in Maryland. When his Slingshot seemed to slide, it caused me to think about something I think was originally posted by @Dave@DDMWorks along the lines of the hardest part of an automatic transmission conversion on the Slingshot is integrating the auto trans control module to work properly with the Slingshot's ECU. In the first video, the slide seems to be followed by some engine surging which could be a …
