  • I have heard of them freezing up and usually cycling the switch will "reset" them. If not then it's off to the dealer.

  • Having the lights stay off until the SS is running is a very simple task. Put an inline switch on the wire feeding the headlight relay and you can keep them off as long as you like. On the other hand you can make it as complicated as you like. Power your headlight circuit by putting a timed "on delay" relay in line with an "adjustable pressure switch "connected to and oil pressure port. Set the timed relay to "power on" 5 seconds after the pressure switch senses the desired pressure. Then your h…

  • Yes I am but I have an enclosed trailer for mine. Thanks for thinking of me though.

  • My vote was not "against" the roll bar. I already have my SS modded in the direction that I want to go and it would be way too expensive to change it up now. I like the look and obvious functionality of your roll over protection and with that design there are endless opportunities for designing add on stuff to go with it. It will be interesting to follow this project as it morphs into it's own. jes my .o2

  • I’m not as good as @dangerdarrell so I won’t promise anything about the weather except that it is a rain or shine event and the show will go on! Maybe we could employ that pole dancing weather man from @MACAWSevent to help us out.

  • BUMP!! It’s getting closer! Is it on your calendar?

You need to do a little research on fog lights and color. You may be enlightened. I had the same mindset on the subject as you until I did the research.

  • We would love to go but circumstances right now dictate otherwise. It should be a beautiful time of the year to be in the mountains. Highs in the 60's should be right up your ally as well. Hope you guys/gals have a great trip!

I would like to put pipes out the back but my dealer said I would have to remove my fender. Quote from silver fox: “ I am sure without question that Polaris has spent long hours and numerous attempts at creating each and every possible scenario to make the SS as safe as possible for the public. However I still believe more studies need to be done to help alleviate the violent actions that slingshots go through when they hydroplane with one front tire. Sent from my iPhone using Polaris Slingshot Forum mobile app ” I am sure they already know the answer and that is why in the owners manu…

Quote from BryanL: “Is the term "traction control" being used incorrectly? I thought traction control only read the rear wheel and would cut the engine if spinning, and stability control read the front wheels and would apply braking. ” I think you have it pretty much right but the electronic stability control also reads other sensors as well and uses the input from all of them to decide what action to take if any.

Quote from samowens44: “The discussion has totally overlooked a key feature of the ESP System. Along with Stability and Traction Control, it has one other key feature, that is Steering Angle Sensor. There is a yaw control that is located in the middle of the Slingshot that is a pivot point and this monitors the spin of the Slingshot if it happens and determines the position of the steering wheel. It sends all this to the ECU to active Braking and engine rpm to bring the Slingshot back into contr…

  • I know they run motorcycles but someone would have to contact them and see if they will allow the SS's to run. They are also very safety conscious so we would need to study the rule book closely and make sure we had them right before showing up at an event. I can tell you from experience what it's like to pull several hundred miles to race and then not be able to make a complete pass and have to load up and haul all the way home. It SUX!

Quote from Mike in Victoria BC: “Quote from silver fox: “I strongly believe it is the traction control that caused my (AII) SS to go out of control ” I posted a similar theory a few months ago about the ESP (not just traction control), so I tend to agree with you. Quote from Mike in Victoria BC: “I have a theory I haven't tested... that if you're in hydroplaning conditions it would be best to turn OFF the ESP (Electronic Stability Program) by long-pressing the traction control button for 5 secon…

  • Does the East Coast Timing Association still hold events? Their events used to be 1 and 1.5 mile runs but I'm sure they record the .5 mile speed. From what I've seen so far anything beyond .5 miles on a slingshot is just beating up your equipment for nothing. Back when I was checking into it ECTA was holding events in Texas, North Carolina, and Maine I believe.
