  • I have the Polaris trailering cover and am very happy with its fit and function. It has successfully protected my Slingshot for two return NS - Fl trips and a few local trips.

  • I sprayed the VHT black on my Welter duals (only the exposed areas, not underneath) over a year ago and it still looks good. Powdercoating, while it looks fine, is often a very expensive alternative to paint (properly applied). There just is no need to use powdercoat (unless you have lots of disposible $$!!).

  • In race car setup (and I recognize there are other influences - shock settings, spring rates, tire grip, front end geometry, track (panhard rod) bar size and setting, etc) the rear sway bar generally affects understeer while the front sway bar affects oversteer. Yes, that is the simple answer. I’m not sure about how to do a rear bar on our SSs, or how to limit understeer. However in my SS experiences to date, understeer has not been an issue. And above all, it has been many years since I set up …

Another vent. Homemade. They seem to reduce fender flap somewhat.

  • Come here and get your fill of clams!! Not strips - whole ones. I will give you a tour. In either a RZR or SS!!

  • Out playing. Stopped for Nova Scotia fried clams for lunch!!! Mmmmmm.

  • Retirement is so great! We summer in Nova Scotia and winter in Florida. Wonderful places for each of those seasons. The SS is trailered to Fl in Nov, and back to NS in May. We are not wealthy. But have a pretty good life. In my opinion, enter retirement debt free. Pay cash for stuff. But others will have different (and equally correct) opinions on both issues.

  • Our Slingshot are basically throwaway cheap plastic toys. Ones many of us can and do modify. My philosophy on my toys is every penny spent on them is never to be seen again, including the purchase price. So have fun. Don’t worry about resale value of a toy. Cause there ain’t much to be had!!!

  • I have seen some SS’s with coloured roll hoops, and liked all of them. So I took mine off, prepped them, and treated them to a couple of coats of good ol Rustoleum! With a few layers on semi gloss clear on top. Another successful rattle can project! No need to powdercoat when paint with clear coat works fine. At 1/10 (or less) of the powdercoat prices.

  • Thanks all. As @Bigdog says, the grill may be unique to Polaris and thus unavailable from firms other than Polaris. I will find something similar and that will do.

  • I found stuff on eBay and Amazon that would be ok, but before I buy I thought I would ask if anybody has a source for the exact pattern in our grills.

  • Can anybody help me find some mesh like in our SS’s grills. Ideally plastic, but aluminum would be ok. I need two pieces each about 12”x 16”.

  • I have trailered my SS between Nova Scotia and Florida for each of the past two winters. I use wheel type straps for both front tires. At the rear I fabricated a strap which holds the wheel in place. As others have said, at every stop a walk around check is a good idea. I choose to leave the transmission in neutral with the parking brake engaged. It being a Canadian SS, I also activate the anti theft ignition system. Wheel straps are from Harbor Freight. I installed additional D ring anchor poin…

Further to a post I made last night about trying to sign up for Club Slingshot. As noted, I sent a note to Polaris commenting on the difficulty in registering. This morning I received a phone call from a Polaris rep who discussed the matter with me, got me registered and accepted my suggestion to make registration easier for international folks. So kudos to Polaris!!!

Quote from Ross: “Quote from UK_Paul: “Quote from Ross: “My guess is that club Slingshot will be slow to be unveiled by Polaris. I would actually be surprised if enroll ment happens before the end of summer. From the sounds of it they started in very late Spring their goal is to have a club out of each dealer and it seems like this is the wrong time to be pestering dealers to set up a club. I have high hopes for club slingshot but I think patience is what it is going to take to be a member. Pola…

Well I just tried to sign up for Club Slingshot. Full disclosure here - I am Canadian. Bought my SS from a dealer in Canada. But it seems we are not welcome in the Club. Canadian postal codes are not accepted in the sign up page. Now, it could be that I missed something - maybe there is a Canadian Club Slingshot site I should have linked to, but I didn’t see it if it exists. So I may have to fool the membership folks. I might just use my Fl address. Edit: An update. A Polaris rep called the next…
