Now they all have power steering, cruise control, air conditioning, automatics, high end radios, power windows and locks, 4 doors, plush interiors, enhanced ride features. Trucks and SUVs are more like cars now than cars. And they cost more than my house. Vehicle prices have gone up roughly $1000 every year. $3,000 in 1972—— $50,000 today. I haven’t owned a “car” since the 80s... owned over 30 conversion vans and many pickups.. right now 3 vans and a pickup. Owning a car never even comes to my m…

Like I said in my earlier post, a good portion of the heat was coming from under the speaker pod where the tubing meets. And I mean a lot of heat was coming from This is a thermal image I found that supports my finding. index.php Also the complete left side along the floor pan needs filled too. I also put an adhesive backed insulation on the bottom of the floor …

  • Quote from Neosolidus: “it seems to be an issue in all polaris vehicles my 16 Sl does it and a RZR I just picked up does it too, it just cuts off for a second no need to restart the vehicle in my case. ” Sounds like it needs to have the brain reset...like computers and iPhones iPads and everything else electronic...they get cluttered up...and suffer brain freeze... My advice to you is to put an on/off switch in the radio hot wire....when it acts goofy instead of turning the SS off and on just re…

The reason everyone started to buy pickup trucks and SUVs is because they started making them ride like cars....I want my SS to ride like a car...not an old pickup truck on a cow path..

  • Quote from SoCal: “I feel your pain! However my experience has been when a dealer replaces a wiring harness they have pretty much given up trying to find what it is. I had this experience with a motorcycle fresh out of the show room and the dealer ended up replacing the wiring harness because they could not find the short. Hopefully you will be up and running soon but I wouldn’t hold your breath on finding the cause. Replacing the “circulatory” system is not a quick endeavor. I think you’re goin…

  • I’ve had people pull over to let me pass because they didn’t know what was lit up behind them....that’s the way I want it...like a full blown Christmas tree with 4th of July added in.

  • air horn, CAI, welter duel exhaust minus cat...runs like a new SS...QA1s shocks...better brakes(not installed yet)

Wow, thanks...I would have thought the front would be slightly heavier...but it kinda makes sense that they weight would be about even..front to back. I haven’t even checked mine yet to see how they were set from Hahn...busy doing yard work.. but I will probably turn them down to soften the ride... these crappy roads are killing me.

  • Welcome to the SS club. My ‘15 just crossed 8000. The thing I wanted to do first and foremost was add more lights, front and back. You can never be too visible. I’ve added about $1000 worth since buying mine. Most of my other mods have been safety related. Now I have just completed some performance mods also. It’s an open pallet as far as customizing goes. Nothing is cheap either. I’m well over $5000 for sure. Probably closing in on 10 shortly... You forgot the pix...

Part of the problem is the SS is half car and half motorcycle. So the shock settings could very well be different front to back. Most of the weight is up front. And as someone pointed out they need to have the rear wheel adjusted different to keep the rubber on the road better. Makes me wonder how the factory shocks are set/calibrated from front to back.

  • Most people think an optima battery is just like a regular battery. They require a different knowledge and info if it drains slightly below a full charge. That’s why I don’t understand why everyone is so hung ho about having to “upgrade” to one. I’ve had them and to me they arent worth the aggravation when you get into this situation. Most people don’t have everything on hand to preform the needed charging method described. I understand she needs help.... and after all the instructions...she’ll …

  • The above is one of the reasons the over priced optima isn’t worth the hastle or the money.

I bought the QA1s with the single adjustment knob. I want a softer ride when hitting these crappy road bumps and potholes. I read that by setting the knob for a soft ride makes it smoother....but do you adjust the front shocks the same as the rear? Would it make any sense or help any by having them adjusted differently.....I’m thinking the rear wheel might bounce more than the fronts because of less weight in the rear....and require a different setting to make the front and the back equally smoo…

  • Quote from Boomer: “I am sorry, but I was just wondering, how much gas do you use in your SS when the cover is on. I am trying to figure out how you drive with cover on. Just seems to me that piece. Of plastic was just another way to charge $50 more. Maybe someone could help, I am little confused about the need for fuel door? JUST SAYIN ” Might be to vent the gas fumes...

  • Quote from harleyujoe: “I would like to know with six piston calipers if you have less leg pressure and going with13" rotors vs old 11".. And if stopping distance is really that much better. I know hearing in track conditions less fade but I I will be riding street. I had installed the Alpha better rotors and ceramic pads and it helped but still looking for having to put less leg pressure into braking the turbo SS.. Especially into heavy cornering. So just would like to know what to expect if I …

  • I bought a really good motorcycle lined, vented cover for my new motorcycle 14 years ago....the bike sat outside over the winter under my porch...opening it up in the spring really opened my eyes...there was rust everywhere...the chrome wheels and other chrome parts... this happened the very first year I owned the bike... So my warning is watch the condensation that collects under the covers...if you cover it over the winter where it can’t get moving air around it..

  • Just upgrading to the hawk brake pads is supposed to be better. I bought them and new lighter rotors. Recently on sales. Haven’t installed them yet waiting to wear out the old ones.
